The next event is planned in Pune - one of the leading IT destinations of India. The 4th India HCI conference will be held from 18-21st April 2012 and hosted at Symbiosis Institute of Design.

The theme for the 2012 conference - "HCI - Delivering Innovation & Value", recognizes the visible footprints been left in past and looking forward to connect us together at the right time and at the right place to address wider aspects of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and usability research.

The tradition of conference around "HCI theme" in India dates back to the year 2000, when few enthusiasts from IIT-IDC & fellow professionals organized a small conference in Bangalore. The present India HCI series of conference was first organized in year 2004. Ultimately it gained the momentum when people and professionals across the Indian IT industry and academia felt a need of right forum to discuss and discourse the progress and challenges covering a broader perspective of Human Computer Interaction. Reincarnation of India HCI conference in year 2009 at Mumbai got the mandate from larger audience of conference participants to get organized annually in different cities of India. India HCI 2010 was organized in collaboration with IDID 2010 (Interaction design for International Development 2010) and enjoyed the participation from Europe and USA.

Pune - well known as the research hub for Indian IT industry is a habitat of 100,000+ professionals working in the IT & related industries. Usability and HCI professionals in Pune is a small but a close knit community of 500+ members. Many groups, ranging from service industry to the product development companies like Cognizant, Infosys, Symantec, iGate and Clarice Technologies etc. and therefore offers a natural venue for HCI conference in order to gain the threshold in this effort.

The IndiaHCI 2012 conference welcomes researchers, professionals, practitioners and designer’s representing research societies, industry and academia from and across the globe.
